The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) announced on Wednesday that global nutrition brand Herbalife will be one of its sponsors nine days before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Herbalife Nutrition, a global nutrition firm, announced on Tuesday that it has struck an agreement to become Team India's official nutrition partner ahead of the Tokyo Olympics, Which is set to begin on July 23rd.

The fact that Herbalife Nutrition has been named the Indian Team's "Official Nutrition Partner" demonstrates the relevance of science-based nutrition in competitive performance.

As a company at the forefront of developing sports nutrition and working successfully with teams and athletes around the world, we are proud to be the nutrition partner in support of Team India. Herbalife Nutrition has operated in India for almost two decades, having been founded in 1980. Weight management, target nutrition, and sports nutrition are among the items offered by the organisation. It offers its products through independent distributors all around the country. Herbalife Nutrition India released the ‘Vritilife' brand of Ayurveda-based products in 2020.

In a variety of competitive sports, including boxing, table tennis, badminton, track and field athletics, wrestling, hockey, tennis, fencing, archery, and shooting, over 100 Indian athletes and sportspersons, including Mary Kom and Manika Batra, are set to represent India in Tokyo 2021. Fans and athletes from all around the world are eagerly anticipating the start of the huge sporting event later this month.

Herbalife has confirmed to us a sponsorship of Rs 2.25 crore to IOA," he added. In June, the IOA had announced that JSW Group had been roped in as a sponsor for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. This comes a day after the IOA signed a sponsorship arrangement with MPL Sports Foundation as the 'Principal Sponsor' for the Tokyo Olympic Games, Asian Games in 2022, and Commonwealth Games.

The JSW Group (JSW) and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) signed a new endorsement deal the previous month, which will see the Indian conglomerate becoming an official Team India sponsor ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.

The IOA claimed Parth Jindal, CEO of JSW, had acknowledged the sponsorship of Rs 1 crore to the governing body in a statement published by IOA chief Narinder Batra and secretary Rajeev Mehta.

Parth Jindal, CEO of JSW has confirmed to us the sponsorship of Rs 1.00 crore to IOA. it added.

Under the terms of the contract, JSW will provide the IOA with Rs. 1 crore in sponsorship assistance for the Tokyo Olympics, which will mark the 100th anniversary of Team India's maiden appearance at the quadrennial sports spectacular.

 The JSW Group has been a vocal supporter of the Olympic Movement in India over the past decade and I am very pleased to formalize our association with the IOA ahead of what promises to be a memorable Olympics for Team India. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) announced last month that mobile gaming platform MPL Sports Foundation will be the primary sponsor of the country's delegation to the Tokyo Olympics and the Birmingham Commonwealth Games next year. The agreement will extend through December 31, 2022.

MPL would pay IOA a total of Rs 8 crore, according to the IOA, and in addition to that  they will also supply the Indian contingent with sports kit for the 2022 Asian Games and Commonwealth Games.

Aslo, The IOA announced that Amul has also expressed interest in supporting IOA. The world's largest dairy company has agreed to sponsor the Tokyo Games, which will take place from July 23 to August 8.  Amul has agreed to sponsor the event for Rs 1 crore until December 31, 2021.

Amul, who has supported us in the previous games also, has come forward to support IOA for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Amul's sponsorship is for Rs 1 crore for a period till 31st December 2021.

We are hopeful of bringing more of such good news in the coming weeks as the talks are going on with some more sponsors.

The agreements were signed just days after IOA dropped Chinese sportswear giant Li Ning as the Indian team's official kit sponsor for the Tokyo Olympics, announcing that the participants will wear unbranded clothing.

This year's Tokyo Olympics will begin on July 23 and the games will run up to August 8. Last year's event was supposed to happen, but it was postponed owing to the COVID-19 epidemic.
