On Friday night, city police in Miyapur detained Tollywood star Krishnudu, who is known for the films Ye Maya Chesave and Vinayakudu, was arrested in Miyapur by Hyderabad Police for gambling with poker. According to reports, the actor was allegedly nabbed red-handed by cops while playing poker with his friends at a house near Miyapur. 

He was arrested along with seven other people, including the game's organiser Paddi Raju.

Miyapur police arrested eight members around midnight on the basis of a tip and filed a complaint under the Public Gaming Act. They planned to catch them red-handed, file a complaint, then release them when they were granted bail. According to reports, the actor is scheduled to return to the police station on Saturday to continue the inquiry.

Actor Krishnudu had attended a function along with a group of friends on Friday night and started gambling at the premises. We received a call from one of the people who were there at the function, who informed us that illegal gambling activity was taking place. We immediately went and arrested them. We registered a case under the Telangana Public Gaming Act. In addition to this, we also seized Rs 2 lakh cash and eight mobile phones.

Sub-inspector Ravi Kumar of the Miyapur Police Station addressed the press and stated

It should be emphasised that this is Krishnudu's second run-in with the law. He had previously been detained by the police in connection with a molestation case. A 45-year-old lady accused him of sexually abusing her years ago and filed a complaint with the Panjagutta police station last year. Several TV anchors, reporters, campaigners, physicians, and student leaders were among the 139 persons she named as having mistreated her. The name Pradeep Machiraju was also on the list. Krishnudu went on to reject the charges, refuted the claims, the controversy faded down.

At midnight, Miyapur police arrested eight members on the basis of a tip and filed a case under the Public Gaming Act. He was eventually released after posting bond, but the inquiry is still ongoing. On Saturday, the actor will be questioned by the police about the incident.

After receiving a tip, Miyapur police raced to the scene and arrested all eight suspects around 12 a.m., after which a complaint was filed against them under the Public Gaming Act. According to reports, Krishnudu and the others were released after being granted bail, and the actor is slated to appear at the police station on Saturday for additional questioning.

Krishnudu is best known for supporting parts in Telugu films such as Pokiri, Happy Days, Oye!, Arya 2, Mr Perfect, Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, Manam, Jyothi Lakshmi, Hello, and Hulchul. He was recently featured in a supporting role in the 2019 film Hulchul.
